Congratulations, Adrian, Gregory, and Daryl!

Adrian Rodriguez to Conduct at
Texas Choral Directors Association Convention

We congratulate Adrian Rodriguez, who has been selected to represent the University of Houston as a student conductor at the summer convention of the Texas Choral Directors Association in San Antonio. Students Michael Kessler and Caitlin Montgomery will be serving as division assistants at the same convention.


Gregory McDaniel Wins ACDA Undergraduate
Student Conducting Competition

Gregory McDaniel was selected from a pool of 150 applicants to compete in Oklahoma City at the national convention of the American Choral Directors Association as a student conductor. After several rounds of conducting, Gregory was named the first-place winner of the competition. Gregory is a member of the Concert Chorale, and the director of Floreat. Congratulations on representing the University of Houston choral department at this prestigious event!


Daryl Robinson Receives First Prize at Organ Competition

Concert Chorale accompanist and UH undergraduate organ major Daryl Robinson won the William C. Hall Organ Competition. The competition took place Saturday March 7, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church in San Antonio. He received first prize and the award for best hymn playing. Congratulations, Daryl!
